            David Weir

            Director

David is a Director in the insurance team specialising in pharmacists' negligence and drug error, historical abuse and rail claims as well as HSE related matters.

David has extensive experience acting for a wide range of public and private sector clients in a variety of fields.

David handles clinical negligence claims, particularly claims relating to pharmacists' negligence and drug errors. He also deals with PL and EL claims for pharmacies.

He acts for a number of public authorities and their insurers in claims of historical abuse both where the alleged abusers are/were public servants or employees and where it is alleged that there has been a failure to protect victims or remove them from situations of abuse. We seek to recover any awards/costs payments made from the abusers where possible.

He deals with El and PL claims for a number of rail clients including CAHA issues and apportionment of claims and recoveries between rail industry parties.

He also deals with HSE and related investigations and prosecutions for clients ranging from local authorities and medical facilities to public transport companies, construction/demolition contractors, manufacturers, fun fairs and leisure organisations. The majority of matters relate to fatalities or serious injury but he also handles matters relating to industrial disease/COSHH as well as less serious injuries and "near misses".
