            Marc von Ammon, LL.M.


            Marc is a banking lawyer and a qualified banker with long-term experience in finance regulatory law. He is an expert on the regulation of the traditional financial industry such as banks, investment funds and insurance companies as well as providers of blockchain solutions and other fintechs.

            Marc is a Senior Attorney-at-Law and Certified Specialist Lawyer for Banking and Capital Markets Law (Fachanwalt für Bank- und Kapitalmarktrecht) with more than 11 years of professional experience in international law firms. Before entering law school, Marc completed training as a certified banker (Bankkaufmann) with Deutsche Bank. He holds a master’s degree in taxation (LL.M. Taxation).

            Marc’s practice has mainly been focusing on banking regulatory law. He has gained considerable experience in related areas, such as capital markets law, investment (asset management) as well as insurance regulatory law and corporate law. Marc has gathered extensive experience advising banks and other financial institutions in structuring their businesses as well as corporate clients seeking alternative financing through institutional and retail equity, mezzanine and debt markets by means of e.g. open- and closed-end funds, bonds and mezzanine finance instruments (such as participation rights).

            Marc has been working for a broad range of clients including the financial industry, from high-profile US, UK and German banks as well as German midsize companies (Mittelstand) and fintech start-ups.

            • Co-author of the commentary on the German AIFM implementation act (KAGB): Baur/Tappen, Investmentgesetze.
            • Co-author of the commentary on the German Capital Investment Act: Siering/Izzo-Wagner, VermAnlG.
            • Author of an article on alternative corporate finance via mezzanine capital, Mittelstand bonds and fintechs (in particular crowd funding) in a special edition of the magazine CORPORATE FINANCE on digitalization of Mittelstand financing.
            • Interview in the German newspaper Wirtschaftswoche relating to a newly introduced small investors law.
