The deadline for Local Authorities to have their Highways Maintenance Policies in place is fast approaching. In this session, which is for the benefit of those implementing the policies and those who handle claims, Perry Hill and John Thompson will look at issues that face Local Authorities both before and after proceedings are issued to assist in defending highways claims.
They will provide tactical guidance and discuss how the new Code of Practice will affect the claims process both pre and post issue.
After a short break we will then consider the fact that there has been an unprecedented surge in the number of Housing Disrepair claims as claims management companies move into this arena, resulting in extensive financial exposure to those in the housing industry and their insurers. More often than not these claims are spurred on by unscrupulous enablers and claims management companies.
DWF's Housing Disrepair and Strategic Team will look at the legal developments around these issues and how to deal with them, providing guidance on preparing for the changes and how to defend dubious claims.
