Tragic incidents such as the "Coventry Supermarket Crash" highlight a multitude of issues that an employer has to deal with in the wake of a major incident involving one of its employees. Issues such as criminal investigations, health and safety management and civil claims management have to be addressed, and quickly, in the wake of a serious incident.

Using a realistic accident scenario, this interactive seminar will cover how employers can protect themselves in the face of such a crisis. Our transport experts will advise Directors, Transport Managers, H&S Managers and HR Personnel how to prepare for:

          • Police/DVA/HSE NI investigations of companies and rivers, including manslaughter / corporate manslaughter investigations.
          • Investigations into fatal road traffic collisions.
          • Criminal Prosecutions of drivers, companies and senior managers.
          • Media management.
          • Public Inquiries before the Transport Regulation Unit.
          • Handling civil claims arising out of the incident.
          • The session will provide invaluable practical advice for all companies operating HGVs and PSVs, as well as all companies dealing with HGVs in their supply chain, such as manufacturers, port operators, retailers and warehouse/logistic companies.

The session will also include a brief update as to Employment Law issues arising in the Road Transport and Logistics Sector as well as off-payroll working rules.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Please note that this is a joint event being run between DWF LLP and Search Recruitment and details of your name, organisation and job title will be shared with Search Recruitment for the purposes of running this event only.
