          Trainee Solicitor Programme

Our training contract is the first step on your journey to become an outstanding commercial lawyer at a global legal business.

There's never been a more exciting time to join DWF. As a global legal business, we are transforming the legal market as you know it and going beyond providing traditional legal advice. If you share our passion for innovation and doing things differently, this may be the right business for you.

Before you start your training contract with us, you will complete the LPC at our preferred provider, BPP.  Provided that you haven’t already started the LPC at the point of offer, we will sponsor your fees for this qualification. To further enhance your knowledge, we would fund the LLM Commercial Legal Practice; a course tailored to the DWF training contract, which will enable you to complete a Master's qualification in addition to the LPC. In the year before your training contract starts, we will host a range of events with your fellow future trainees, so that you feel settled before you even start.

During the course of your two-year training contract, you will receive a high level of responsibility in the legal work that you are involved in. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is at the heart of what we do at DWF, so you will have numerous opportunities to get involved with the DWF Foundation; which focuses on supporting projects in areas such as homelessness, health and wellbeing, employability and education. Finally as a trainee solicitor you will have exposure to a number of business development opportunities.

As you are training, you will be supported by the Emerging Talent team, Training Principal and your supervisor in each seat. Not only this, but you will have access to a range of face to face training sessions, in-house workshops and practical day-to-day learning.

To find out more about life at DWF for a Trainee Solicitor, watch our interview with Kate, Olivia, and Greg as well as Graduate Recruitment Partner, James, and newly qualified Solicitor, Mahesh.

If you're thinking about joining us, you can apply for a training contract in a number of our English and Scottish offices, as well as our Belfast and Dublin offices.
