Sahar was called to the Bar by Gray's Inn, from whom he received multiple awards and scholarships, after reading law at the University of Bristol (2:1). He was assessed as 'Outstanding' and ranked 4th in his year group on the BVC (now BPTC). He undertook pupillage and practiced at the Bar in London.
Sahar joined DWF as the sole counsel in the London office in 2014. He is now a named Director of DWF ADVOCACY LTD – a wholly owned subsidiary of the LLP which provides clients all of the traditional services of Chambers. His practice is largely focused on commercial litigation and international arbitration as well as all forms of ADR. He is fluent in spoken Urdu and speaks conversational Malay – working regularly for clients in Pakistan and Malaysia.
Sahar has experience in the USA, Canada, the UAE, Pakistan, Singapore and Malaysia. He accepts instructions in relation to a wide range of commercial disputes. He has particular experience of and interest in high value contractual disputes that span continents and sectors. His expertise are often sought in respect of nuanced arguments around, for example: jurisdiction, conflict of laws, res judicata and limitation.
In recent times he has advised and represented clients in the fields of: Energy (particularly Oil & Gas), Aviation, Cargo Transportation and Shareholder disputes.
He is a member of the firm's International Arbitration Practitioners group and has substantial experience representing clients in Arbitral proceedings (various seats and rules).
