Our team of international legal experts, supported by locally-based legal partners, specialises in providing decisive legal advice to UK-based organisations seeking to exploit the opportunities presented by the Benelux countries.  We also work with organisations, based across this group of countries, seeking to expand or establish commercial links with the UK and rest of the EU.

We specialise in working with investment and financial organisations as well as the food, retail and insurance sectors.

We present innovative, sustainable solutions on all areas of the law including mergers & acquisitions, private equity & venture capital, contracts & agreements, employment law, cross border insurance claims, real estate and EU & regulatory law.  In addition, through contacts in Belgium, we provide legal advice and direction to organisations and law firms in Francophone Africa.

We understand the importance of getting expert legal knowledge, grounded in experience.  Of ensuring that everything we do contributes to achieving your commercial goals. As a result of our EU & competition expertise we maintain a regular presence in Brussels, Head of EU/Competition, Jonathan Branton, having practised there for over 15 years.

We view our role as collaborative, responding quickly and working with you to minimise risk.  Using our understanding and proven track record to anticipate barriers to success and navigate the complex regulatory structures each country presents.  We provide fast, technically accurate, commercially focused advice, grounded in a thorough understanding of the sectors and countries you work in.

Recent examples of our work include acting for a large Dutch investment fund manager on numerous strategic private equity investments across the EU; acting on the sale of Spaanes-Babcock BV in the engineering sector; acting for UK corporates in relation to listings of debt securities and acting for companies in connection with issues concerning dual listings in these territories; acting for various Dutch and Belgium companies on acquisitions in the UK, as well as other investments; acting for large UK corporates (in particular in the food and retail sectors) in their commercial dealings with Dutch suppliers; and advising insurers with regard to product liability claims and recalls in the Benelux countries.

From our Brussels office we provide greater competition and regulatory support to our major UK and international clients, particularly in the Central and Local Government, Food and Retail, Transport, and Energy and Industrials industry sectors.
