The Business Intelligence Team is at the core of all data analytics for DWF’s Clients and Internal Operations. This role is pivotal to ensure Clients, Client Partners and Operational Management have accurate, timely and insightful intelligence on Client Activity and Operational Performance, and to lead the stratification and commoditization of Business Intelligence. 

Main function of role:

To provide insightful BI analysis to support the growth strategy of DWF; develop and oversee a suite of accurate and timely Client reports for external delivery, internal dashboards and KPI’s for Client and Practice Area Management.

Take lead responsibility to identify client and business intelligence needs ensuring data is collated and interpreted to meet these needs.

Take lead responsibility to ensure Client Partners are fully equipped to understand and interpret their client’s performance metrics and identify opportunities for strategic partnerships through the adoption of data analytics.

Work on reporting projects to advance the level of Business Intelligence and provide technical expertise to accelerate and improve reporting efficiency.

Engage directly with stakeholders, identifying the most effective platforms to demo existing & alternative metrics to aid their decision making capability to attain companywide targets for organic growth and operational efficiency.

To line manage a team of Business Intelligence Analysts in a chosen Practice Area, with relevant Clients & Client Partners, engaging to proactively work with their stakeholders to drive forward continuous improvement and the realisation of the asset of Business Intelligence, identifying and investigating both possible risk areas and potential opportunities.

To manage the allocation of resources to ensure that appropriate SLAs for the Practice Area and Client Partners are achieved, this will mean allocation of work as well as organising busy periods and diary management to ensure that the team is covered to take ad-hoc requests in addition to the standard workload.

To manage the performance and development of this sub-team through relevant measures; and improve the productivity of the Business Intelligence Analysts through training, developing talent, process improvements and ensuring best practices.


Responsible to: Head of Business Intelligence

Liaison with: Client Partners and Fee Earners, Product Heads, IT Development, Business Development, Business Improvement, Finance Business Partners


  • Demonstrable experience as a Team Leader experience
  • Requires sound commercial awareness and the ability to provide 'value-add' insight to management.
  • Proven experience of delivering data and analysis into the business, anticipating future requirements
