Main function of role

The Business Intelligence Team plays a central role in supporting DWF’s budgeting, planning, decision making, client management & reporting as well as performance monitoring and understanding trends in and identifying new opportunities for the business.

The core elements of this Business Intelligence decision making is the Management Information (MI) that upholds it all. And this role as a MI Reporting officer is important in producing this management information for all those factors above supporting the BI Analysts.

Undertake the preparation and creation of management information reports for the Business Intelligence Analysts. Ranging from the creation, issue and analysis of exception reports through to the actual report production and issue to the relevant BI Analyst

Work closely with the Lead MI Technical Analyst in report development and identifying improvements to the data structure, integrity and integration across our core systems to improve data input and extraction

Provide the first line response for all internal operational and client queries and support the BI analysts in creating additional data / reports.

Main Duties

Key accountabilities/responsibilities

This will include data extraction from DWF core systems as well as engineering information with data from multiple sources to produce reports. A strong grasp of the data structure in DWF core systems is crucial to support the BI analysts deliver effective and meaningful BI.   

The delivery of a periodic timetable of report production which is managed by the Senior Business Intelligence Finance Analyst, but deliverable to the wider BI team and where relevant the wider business  Report production will be driven and engineered by the Lead MI Technical Analyst and handed over to the MI Reporting Officer as part of their timetable.

Assist the Lead MI Technical Analyst in report development under relevant, timely and structured development frameworks.

Effective time management, be a self-starter, be self-reliant and be able to work on own initiative and identify solutions with strong work ethic and willingness to go extra mile.

Working relationships

Is a key member of the Business Intelligence team reporting to the Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

They will be expected to establish a highly credible and professional working relationship with Business Intelligence Analysts and the team.

Key skills and competencies

Advanced analytical and IT skills, especially Excel. Knowledge of SQL and Qlikview is beneficial although not essential and training will be given.

Previous experience in MI Reporting (insurance or financial services experience preferred although not essential) or a graduate with a strong data analysis background

Adept at using core excel functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUPS and SUMIF functions. This role would be well suited to candidates with a degree in IT and mathematical subjects that involve analysing, manipulating and reporting on data.

Degree educated or equivalent.
