DWF LLP is seeking to recruit a Paralegal/File Opener to join the Occupational Health team in Manchester. The Occupational Health team deals with EL, PL and other injury claims along with various disease matters to include deafness, VWF, asbestos injuries, WRULD/RSI and other types of disease claims such as asthma and stress related injuries.
The role will involve a range of work but with an emphasis on opening files and completing management information on the case management systems for EL, PL and other injury &/or Disease claims pre and post litigation.
Previous experience is not required as all training is provided. Some experience and knowledge of litigation and the litigation process is preferred but not essential as training and supervision will be given. Knowledge of the MOJ Portal and Pre Action Protocols is also desirable.
Our team serves a broad range of insurers, runoff syndicates, brokers, private companies and the self-insured.
We are seeking a candidate who can demonstrate a real interest in Occupational Health work, who is a team player with strong communication skills and attention to detail and is looking for a career within a top 20 Law Firm.
Main function of job
To process opening cases efficiently, under supervision, to an effective and satisfactory standard whilst identifying and updating management information under the terms of the client service level agreement.
a. Responsible to: Associate Fee Earner
b. Liaison with: Insurance Clients, Claimant's solicitors and the wider Occupational Health team.
- To action all tasks in line with department/client service standards and protocols.
- To identify technical aspects of the case, under the supervision of the Team Leader.
- To ensure that financial targets are met.
- Use of the Case Management system and use of standard documentation wherever appropriate.
- To ensure client care in all cases.
- Progress cases to triage in a satisfactory/speedy way in accordance with client requirements.
- Record all time accurately.
- Partake in any other duties that are deemed necessary to support the DWF business as and when required.
- To follow all the Firm's policies and procedures.
- To ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.
