DWF are one of Europe’s most innovative Law firms as voted by the Financial Times.
We have won numerous awards, including being independently ranked as 1 of the top employers for working families, as well as being in the top 2 law firms for employee satisfaction.
With offices nationwide and overseas, we are growing and are looking for top talent to come on board and be part of our success.
Due to an increase in work, DWF LLP is seeking to recruit a Paralegal to join the Casualty team in Manchester.
The part of the Casualty team that we are recruiting for deals with a very varied mixture of work ranging in value from low end fast track to some higher value multi-track work. The work includes Animal Act claims, leisure and retail work for which encompasses a lot of trips and slip. We also deal with many varied types of accidents at work, public liability claims and various disease matters to include deafness, VWF, asbestos injuries as well as WRULD/RSI and other types of disease claims to include asthma, dermatitis and stress related injuries.
We act for a variety of entities including insurance companies, self-insured’s and nominations via brokers. The work undertaken by the team is predominantly litigated with the only pre litigation work we really do being pre action disclosure applications.
The vacancy has arisen due to an increase in workload and we will consider applications from candidates with strong academics at degree level or above who possess relevant experience of fee earning, particularly handling their own caseload of work as indicated above.
We are seeking a candidate who can demonstrate a real interest in personal injury work, with a commitment to DWF and working in Manchester. The candidate should be a team player with strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail. We are also seeking a candidate who is familiar with working in a commercial environment, who is able to use their own initiative and is a self-starter. The ability to be able to organise yourself and comply with deadlines is paramount. There is real scope to do a wide variety of work in this role.
We are recruiting at a range of levels in this team and would consider junior paralegals and more experienced paralegals / legal executives for these roles. Ideally, the candidate will have litigated experience of dealing with EL/Pl claims and/or disease work but we would consider a strong candidate with less experience in those areas.
