As a Legal Support Assistant, you will provide secretarial support to a team of Fee Earners within our Catastrophic Loss team in London. 

Main Duties

1. Assisting in the pro-active handling of cases as directed by the designated legal adviser(s). Such handling may include:

  • liaising with clients over the telephone;
  • instructing agents for hearings;
  • drafting documents / correspondence to progress the case for consideration by the designated legal adviser;
  • processing documents that are received from other parties including billing, cheques, Court orders etc. as directed by the designated legal adviser(s);
  • document creation – utilising case management systems to generate correspondence that attracts chargeable time.

2. Monitor work and ensure compliance with service standards and ISO Procedures.

3. Assist in the provision of client related management information; collation, administration and reporting.

4. Process correspondence and documents for respective Legal Adviser / Partner, liaising with other PAs, Administration Assistants and the Secretarial Manager.

5. To undertake various duties which may include the following:

  • Arranging meetings and conference calls as and when necessary;
  • Maintaining Legal Advisers / Partners diary and follow up system;
  • Assisting with the monthly invoicing process including raising invoices when requested to do so;
  • Keeping files and filing up to date (hard and soft copy);
  • Dealing with correspondence in an efficient manner;
  • Dealing with phone calls in a prompt and efficient manner.

6. Deal with client enquiries in the absence of Legal Adviser and take appropriate proactive action.

  • You will need to have previous legal administration experience
  • Strong PC skills including all Microsoft Packages
  • You will be highly organised and able to manage your time
