Business law firm DWF took home two major honours at this year’s Liverpool Law Society Legal Awards: the ‘Large Law Firm of the Year’ award and the ‘Work in the Community’ award. The Awards were held on Saturday 18 May at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Liverpool.
DWF was up against some strong competition for the ‘Large Law Firm of the Year’ award, including Hill Dickinson and Weightmans. The firm’s achievement in this category is testament to its rapid growth over the past year.
The values-led firm was also incredibly proud to win the ‘Work in the Community’ award, having been shortlisted against DLA Piper and Hattons Solicitors. DWF won the award in recognition of the time its people have dedicated to working with young people in the local community and the firm was commended for activities such as the 5 STAR Futures programme, an innovative self-leadership and aspirational development programme that aims to improve students’ employability skills, boosting their chances of securing jobs.
Simon Price, associate at DWF, developed and directed the 5 STAR Futures programme and commented: “This award is great recognition for the huge amount of support everyone at DWF has given, not only to the 5 STAR Futures programme, but to the wide range of community activities that we are involved in across Liverpool.”
Commenting on the wins, Paul Rimmer, executive partner for DWF in Liverpool, said: “We are delighted to receive these awards which are held in high regard in the Liverpool legal market. There are more than 350 people who work at DWF in Liverpool and it is fantastic for the office to receive this recognition for both the quality of our legal services and our work in the community.”
