Business law firm, DWF, is bolstering its corporate team in Scotland with the appointment of partner, Paul Pignatelli, associate, Tom Maxwell and solicitor, Gemma Gallagher, all formerly with DLA Piper.
Paul has spent more than 20 years specialising in corporate finance and was also head of the sports practice for nine years at DLA Piper. The team will all be based at DWF's Glasgow office.
As experienced corporate lawyers, the trio's expertise spans mergers and acquisitions, disposals, private equity and investment work, restructuring for private companies, joint ventures and advising on issues of corporate governance.
The appointments add to DWF's already-strong national corporate offering, supporting the team’s work with FTSE 100 and blue chip companies. They follow the recent lateral hires of Paul Rimmer (previously head of corporate at DLA Piper in Liverpool), Christian Lowis (previously of Squire Sanders) and Andrew Harris (corporate and commercial litigation specialist from DLA Piper).
Alasdair Peacock, executive partner for DWF in Edinburgh and Glasgow, said: "With such in-depth market experience and wide-reaching connections, Paul is an excellent fit for our team. Our growth strategy for 2013 is ambitious and with Paul on board we are in an even better position to exceed our targets."
Paul added: "Tom, Gemma and I are looking forward to joining one of the UK’s top firms at such a significant juncture in its strategy and we plan to continue to support its remarkable growth. DWF's corporate offering is strong, and, because of its innovative approach to client services, the firm is able to provide something different within the industry."
