National law firm, DWF, has achieved its goal of becoming a 'Top 20' law firm, two years ahead of target, after being ranked 19th in Legal Week's UK Top 50 2013.
Following a year of unprecedented growth the revenue-based ranking positions DWF at 19, a rise of 14 places on last year's position of 33.
Through organic growth, strategic mergers, acquisitions and a series of lateral hires, DWF reported an impressive turnover of £188 million and a 41 per cent increase in net profit for the financial year 2012/13. The figure is a significant milestone for the firm and follows 20 years of consecutive growth. The firm's revenue growth is the highest amongst all UK law firms and has increased by almost 250 per cent over the last five years, from £54 million in 2008.
DWF also saw the largest growth in partner numbers, with an 87.5 per cent increase on the financial year 2011/12, and was one of only three firms to have grown PEP by more than 20 per cent over the last five years.
Andrew Leaitherland, managing partner and CEO at DWF, commented: "We set ourselves aspirational and challenging targets and we always aim high. This year's incredible achievements are the culmination of our people's dedication and ambition, stringent operational practices and the on-going support of our clients. We continue to strive for the very best levels of service and look forward to implementing the next stage of our strategic growth plan".
