DWF picks up two awards at the Birmingham Law Society Legal Awards 2014

Last night, DWF's executive partner for Birmingham Caroline Coates was awarded Partner of the Year and Ekaterina Wild was awarded Trainee of the Year at the prestigious Birmingham Law Society Legal Awards 2014.

Caroline was recognised for her pivotal role in Birmingham supporting the phenomenal growth of DWF over the past 18 months. As executive partner for Birmingham Caroline has responsibility for co-ordinating DWF's operational activities across the West Midlands, ensuring our people and our clients are provided with the best possible service and identifying and delivering strategic targets to support client service excellence. Caroline was also recognised for her significant contribution to the legal and insurance industries in the West Midlands.

Caroline commented: "It is a great honour to receive this award and is fantastic recognition for DWF in Birmingham. We understand the importance of bringing people with you as we grow and DWF is committed to growing its presence in the region, taking advantage of the opportunities presented by Birmingham's energetic and successful professional services sector, growing our clients' businesses as we grow our own."

Ekaterina Wild, who has newly qualified as a solicitor at DWF, was commended for her work on international business opportunities, her commitment to the Birmingham legal sector and supporting local businesses in the Midlands in developing their international connections through links with the UKTI and LEP.

Andrew Leach, Ekaterina's supervising partner at DWF, added: "As a fluent Russian speaker Ekaterina is a key player in the Russian litigation team at DWF, using her language skills to create international business opportunities for the firm and consistently demonstrating a commitment to both DWF and the region's legal industry."

Martin Allsopp, president of Birmingham Law Society, said: "The judges were impressed by all of this year's individual finalists, from trainees starting their legal careers to experienced partners leading teams and firms. This has definitely been one of the strongest finalist line-ups we have had for a number of years."
