DWF announced as finalist in Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative Awards

Top 20 national law firm, DWF, has been announced as a finalist at the inaugural Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative (RIDI) Awards.

The scheme, which is overseen by a voluntary steering group of supporting organisations, aims to improve how disabled people are recruited in the UK by working together with employers to make the recruitment process more inclusive.

A total of 28 businesses have been shortlisted across six categories: Most progress; Overall candidate experience; Employers' choice; Agency choice; Individual choice; and Disability confident. There are also eight digital categories assessing how companies have used their expertise to recruit and train disabled employees, the winners of which will be announced on the RIDI website.

Tyrone Jones, head of values and corporate responsibility at DWF, said: "Working with our employment team, we have developed an improved candidate experience through changes to the website, job specifications and our relationship with external recruiters. As a result, we have recently become the first UK law firm to achieve ClearAssured status – the industry benchmark for inclusive recruitment.

"Diversity, equality and inclusion are at the heart of our ethos and we have taken significant steps over the last twelve months to firmly embed this into our culture. We are committed to building on this success going forward."

The winners will be announced during an awards ceremony in London on Wednesday 14 May.
