National business law firm DWF has been named as the most active legal advisor in the North West for the first quarter of 2014 in a new report from Experian. The top 20 UK firm acted on nine deals, including advising private equity specialist LDC on its investment in procurement services business CEL Procurement.
DWF's corporate, tax and commercial teams worked with longstanding client Equiniti, a leading business services outsourcing provider, on its acquisition of a lending software business, Pancredit Systems Limited, and also advised Car Loan 4U, the UK's leading online car finance specialist, on its £8 million investment from leading UK venture capital firm, Scottish Equity Partners (SEP).
The research also revealed the value of deals in the North West soared by almost a quarter in the first three months of 2014.
Frank Shephard, partner and head of DWF's corporate team in the North West, said: "The start of 2014 has been strong for businesses in the North West and this confidence is fuelling deals such as the nine reported deals we have advised on so far this year. The strength of business in the North West is also reflected by Liverpool's hosting of the International Festival for Business in June and July, demonstrating the importance of the region as a growth area in the UK."
DWF has offices around the UK, including locations in Liverpool, Manchester and Preston.
