DWF appoints new corporate crime and environmental regulatory partner

Business law firm DWF has strengthened its national regulatory team with the appointment of partner David Egan, who joins the firm’s Birmingham office from Irwin Mitchell.

With over 20 years’ experience David acts for a number of household-name clients and specialises in environmental regulation and corporate crime. He has a particular focus on the manufacturing, real estate and construction sectors, and strong expertise in advising on matters of pollution, waste management, trading standards and health and safety investigations and prosecutions. In addition to contentious issues, David also has considerable experience in providing non-contentious risk management advice and training to corporate clients on key areas of environmental and safety legislation and other key areas of business risk such as bribery and fraud.

Steffan Groch, National Head of Regulatory at DWF, commented: “David’s strong expertise in Health and Safety Executive defence work and breaches of environmental legislation, issues which are becoming increasingly prevalent across the sectors in which we work, ensures he will play an integral role in further supporting our clients and the future development of our 20-strong national regulatory team.”

David added: “DWF’s regulatory team has a fantastic reputation across the UK and its strengths in the real estate and construction sectors have strong synergies with my own expertise. I’m looking forward to working closely with the team in Birmingham and across the UK to continue supporting our clients and expanding our offering further."
