DWF shortlisted for Living Wage Champions Award 2014

DWF has been shortlisted for a Living Wage Champions Award by the charity The Living Wage Foundation, recognising the firm as an employer who has made a significant contribution to its community and industry by supporting the Living Wage. The firm has been shortlisted in the North West region, where it employs over 1,200 people across Liverpool, Manchester and Preston.

The Living Wage, which employers choose to pay on a voluntary basis, is an hourly wage rate set independently and calculated annually according to the basic cost of living in the UK and has proven to show positive results for employee retention, morale and productivity.

Tyrone Jones, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Engagement at DWF, commented: “Supporting the Living Wage is consistent with our values and continuing determination to be a responsible, transparent and ultimately more sustainable business and it is great recognition to have been shortlisted for this award.”

Living Wage Foundation Director, Rhys Moore, added: “I would like to send huge congratulations to DWF on being shortlisted for the Living Wage Champion Awards. The commitment of Living Wage employers to responsible pay makes a real difference to families and communities across the country.”

The awards are judged by an independent panel of community leaders from the Citizens UK Living Wage campaign and the winners will be announced during Living Wage Week 2014 - 2 to 8 November.
