Business law firm DWF has been named the second most deal active law firm in the UK, with its 70-strong national corporate team advising on a total of 71 deals, according to an independent report by the global information services company Experian. The firm is also once again acknowledged as the most active legal adviser in the North West in the report, which lists legal and financial advisers across the UK in relation to deal volume and value in quarter three of 2014.
DWF’s corporate team in the North West has advised on some of the region’s most high profile deals, which include advising Zeus Capital in relation to the £135million AIM IPO and £94million fundraising for Epwin Group; Nixon Williams, a leading accountancy practice, on its sale to Sovereign Capital, the UK private equity buy and build specialist; and Equiniti, a specialist in technology, financial and administrative services, on its acquisition of Invigia Limited.
In addition to being ranked number one in the North West the research also revealed that DWF was the second most active legal adviser in the North East, with an aggregate consideration of deals at £103million; the second most active legal adviser in the East; the fourth most active legal adviser in Scotland and the South East; and the seventh most active legal adviser in Yorkshire and the Humber.
Frank Shephard, partner and Head of Corporate North West at DWF, said: "We have a strong team working with clients across the UK and it is great to see that the market confidence experienced at the beginning of the year is continuing to fuel deal flow in capital markets, private equity and M&A. Over the last 12 months we have made significant investments in our national team and as the strength of business across the regions looks set to increase further we’re looking forward to continue supporting clients across a range of sectors.”
