National business law firm DWF won the prestigious Leadership award at last night’s North of England Excellence Awards in recognition of the firm’s commitment to championing and developing excellence across the firm. First TransPennine Express and the University of Chester were also recognised in the Leadership category.
DWF is the first legal services firm to partner with the British Quality Foundation and North of England Excellence as part of its commitment to the excellence journey and has been recognised for demonstrating critical elements of excellent leadership, such as promoting change and reinforcing a culture of excellence, delivering growth, enhancing the firm’s reputation through engagement with key stakeholders and successfully communicating its vision and values.
The firm was commended for introducing initiatives that boost employee satisfaction and engagement; successfully communicating with clients and referrers, the media and wider stakeholders through a series of planned, co-ordinated and targeted communications; and making a strategic £12million investment in technology that has allowed the firm to deliver major operational efficiencies.
Deborah Abraham, Director of Risk Management and Excellence, commented: “We are thrilled to receive further recognition for our commitment to developing a culture of excellence across the firm. For us, this journey is about ensuring that we’re able to continue to deliver client service excellence to both our internal and external stakeholders. Over the last 12 to 18 months we have undergone periods of significant growth and change, and it is fantastic to see that the progress we’ve made has been recognised.”
The awards, now in their 20th year, identify organisations within the region that have achieved and maintained superior performance throughout the year. DWF beat off strong competition from the likes of After Adoption, the European Centre for Best Practice Management and GlaxoSmithKline.
