DWF has appointed insurance regulatory partner Jeremy Irving to its team in London. Jeremy joins from Eversheds, where he was a partner, before which he was a legal director at DLA Piper.
With over 20 years’ experience, Jeremy’s practice specialises in managing legal risk and compliance within the insurance and reinsurance markets, including advice on insurance operational and regulatory issues and dispute resolution on coverage and commercial issues.
He regularly advises insurers, intermediaries and insureds across a range of product lines and has undertaken a number of complex, large-scale projects, including establishing a multi-jurisdictional web-based insurance mediation programme; undertaking an investigation into governance over reserving and Solvency II preparation; and advising a UK-based insurer as to coverage issues on a bespoke commercial policy relating to an international investment scheme.
Commenting on his appointment, Jeremy said: “I’m delighted to be joining DWF, particularly at a time when the firm is making a number of strategic moves to grow its City presence. With a clear vision and strong sector focus, the firm will be a great fit for my practice and I look forward to bringing my expertise to the team to help further develop our offering to clients.”
Steffan Groch, head of DWF’s national regulatory team, added: “Jeremy will be a strong addition to our fast-growing Regulatory team, bringing exceptional technical capability in his practice area that makes him well-suited to support DWF’s insurance sector clients in particular, both in the City and internationally.”
