At the recent Annual General Meeting of the West Midlands Association of the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation (IRRV), Neil Jinks, a Director of DWF’s Recoveries team, was elected to the Executive Committee that manages this regional branch of the IRRV.
The Association organises programmes of professional and social activities that take place regionally and provide the opportunity for all members to become more involved in the work of the Institute. A key aim of the Institute is to support its members’ professional and personal development and the sharing of best practice.
The Institute has a membership of over 3,500 and offers a range of qualifications covering its professional fields. It is a nationally approved awarding body for its vocational and examination-based qualifications. Each year, in excess of 600 students sit IRRV examinations and vocational assessments. Successful students join the thousands of IRRV qualified professionals currently working in both the public and private sector within the fields of revenues, benefits and valuation.
IRRV qualifications and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme are designed to meet the needs of members at every stage of their careers. A thriving network of Associations is one of the IRRV’s main strengths.
This appointment follows Neil being awarded corporate membership of IRRV based on his work over many years with revenues and benefits professionals working in local authorities.
Neil said: “DWF are very active in the public sector and our recoveries team act for a number of local authorities and their revenues and benefits teams providing them with debt recovery solutions. As I was recently awarded corporate membership, I was keen to offer my support to my fellow IRRV members and this appointment will give me the ideal opportunity to do so.”
