DWF appoints City corporate and banking partner

National legal business DWF has appointed partner Patrick Eaton to the firm’s corporate and banking team in London. Patrick joins from K&L Gates and will support the further development of the firm’s corporate retail capability in London and nationally.

Patrick’s practice is focused in the retail sector, particularly private company M&A, equity finance and corporate structuring. His clients include retail businesses, as well as private and venture capital investors. Patrick’s experience also includes a substantial amount of UK and international M&A and joint venture work for US corporates across a variety of sectors, as well as AIM IPOs and secondary financings, acting for issuers, nominated advisers and brokers.

Patrick commented on his appointment: "DWF has a strong corporate team in London and nationally, with a deep understanding of the retail sector. I’m looking forward to working with the team to help further develop DWF’s capability and presence in this market."

Alasdair Peacock, national head of corporate and banking at DWF, commented: "Patrick’s commercial and technical capability and specialist retail expertise are going to be a real asset to our team, allowing us to deepen and broaden our relationships with clients, develop our corporate practice in the City and further build our profile in the retail sector."

DWF’s corporate and banking team was recently ranked the second most active adviser in the UK and Ireland M&A market, with several recent high profile partner appointments including Richard Britain from Ince& Co and Christian Francis from DLA Piper in DWF’s London office and Chris McLauchlan from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Gary MacDonald from Pinsent Masons in Scotland.
