DWF shortlisted in national awards for insurance expertise and tech innovation

DWF has been shortlisted in two categories at the 2016 Legal Business Awards – Insurance Team of the Year and Legal Technology Team of the Year - in recognition of its role in some of the insurance industry’s most cutting-edge cases and for transforming its approach to legal service delivery through the launch of innovative technology initiatives.

DWF is shortlisted for Legal Technology Team of the Year for putting technology at the centre of its strategic vision and using a £12m investment in technology to develop a range of tech and people-led initiatives that are improving client service, increasing operational efficiency across the business and better engaging the firm’s people across its 16 locations.

In the last year the firm also launched 15squared, a technology development venture and wholly-owned subsidiary of DWF, which is transforming the firm’s approach to client engagement by developing bespoke solutions to help clients increase efficiencies, improve internal processes, reduce risk and increase their access to innovative business solutions.

The Insurance Team of the Year shortlisting recognises the expertise of DWF’s 1000-strong insurance team which is acting at the forefront of key industry debates and engaging with government and regulatory bodies to drive legislative change in the industry.

Over the last 12 months the team has acted on a number of high profile cases including the first case in which telematics data was used to disprove a fraudulent motor claim, the first full dismissal of a fundamental dishonesty case and the landmark Supreme Court case Zurich Insurance PLC (Zurich) v International Energy Group Limited (IEG) which, described as a ‘stunning victory for insurers’, was recognised by the Financial Times for innovation in dispute resolution.

This year’s winners will be announced at a ceremony at Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 7 April.
