DWF shortlisted for two Lawyer Business Leadership awards

Legal business DWF has been shortlisted for ‘Best firm-wide use of technology’ and ‘Most significant contribution by an Executive Assistant’ at the 2016 Lawyer Business Leadership Awards, which highlight the most outstanding teams and individuals, technology initiatives, operational improvements and client-driven business developments across the legal sector.

DWF is shortlisted for its success in implementing dwf draft, a document automation solution, through an innovative new people engagement technique that involves specialists with a hybrid mix of legal, technology and consultancy skills working alongside the firm’s lawyers to co-design automation solutions. dwf draft enables the simple, automated production of entire suites of legal documents, reducing risk and improving the user experience, and has been piloted with several of DWF’s clients to help them drive efficiency and save costs in-house. The firm’s method of developing and implementing the solution with direct lawyer input is increasing the speed of uptake across the business, guaranteeing positive ROI and resulting in DWF automating more documents so far than any other law firm.

The firm is also shortlisted for ‘Most significant contribution by an Executive Assistant’ in recognition of the contributions of Jen Clarke, who supports the firm’s Managing Partner and CEO Andrew Leaitherland and who has played a key role in supporting the firm as it has launched an international presence and completed domestic and international mergers. She also leads the firm’s newly-formed executive support function, which involves managing and mentoring apprentices.

DWF’s Managing Partner and CEO Andrew Leaitherland commented: “dwf draft has been a fantastic business success for us and we’re pleased at how quickly it is being embedded throughout the business. The speed at which our people are adopting it, and the excellent results we’re already seeing, is really encouraging, and we have a clear roll out plan for automating the rest of our legal precedents over the next 12 months, allowing us to increase efficiency, deliver better results for clients and enable our people to focus on higher value work. This is also a very well-deserved recognition for Jen, whose professionalism and dedication make her a highly valued and trusted member of our team and who is seen as someone who genuinely goes further for her colleagues across the business.”

DWF was previously awarded ‘most innovative use of office environment’ at the 2015 Lawyer Business Leadership Awards and ‘management team of the year’ in 2014.
