Leading law firm DWF has been shortlisted for Claims Partner of the Year and Service Provider of the Year at the 2016 Insurance Times Awards in recognition of the value the firm is providing to its national and international insurer clients through its tech-driven counter fraud initiatives. With the success of its market-leading telematics expertise and predictive data analysis tools, the firm is operating at the forefront of the industry by helping clients use advanced data to improve early fraud detection, reduce indemnity spend and stay ahead of emerging claimant trends.
DWF has developed innovative tools for using telematics data to combat the rise of fraudulent insurance claims and help improve the speed and accuracy of liability decision making. By harnessing the power of complex locational and accelerometer data within the claims environment the firm’s approach has helped its clients achieve millions of pounds in savings and resulted in several breakthroughs for the insurance industry.
The firm has also developed techniques for using predictive analytics and market intelligence to help clients successfully identify growing trends in fraud and develop robust counter strategies for fighting these claims. By using intelligent systems to profile claimant behaviour, DWF can help clients effectively disrupt business models of fraudulent behaviour in third party claims enablers and tackle fraud at the source.
Over the past year DWF has made significant investments in growing its counter fraud capability for the benefit of its major insurer clients. Last year DWF appointed partner Lorraine Carolan from DAC Beachcroft as the firm’s National Head of Counter Fraud, followed shortly by the appointment of partner Miles Hepworth also from DAC Beachcroft. The firm has recently launched a counter fraud team in Scotland with the appointment of partner Jill Sinclair, who heads the Scottish team, and solicitor Justine Reilly, also from DAC Beachcroft.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 1 December.
