DWF becomes a member of the Insurance Fraud Bureau

International legal business DWF has become a  member of the Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB) as it opens its membership to the insurance industry supply chain for the first time, including defendant solicitors, investigators, loss adjustors and third-party administrators.

As an affiliate member, DWF will have access to fraud intelligence alerts issued by the IFB and will contribute to the 150+ cross-industry investigations currently managed by the Bureau.

Ben Fletcher, Director of the IFB, said: “Launching an IFB affiliate membership model is a significant step forward for the insurance industry in establishing a truly holistic counter-fraud strategy. The insurance industry has always benefitted from a proactive and experienced supply chain of defendant lawyers, investigators, loss adjustors and third-party administrators, whose access to data can only enrich the fight against fraud.”

“The data and intelligence held by affiliate firms, combined with their expertise and experience will support in closing the net on systematic fraud – more savings for the industry, more convictions and less opportunity for the fraudsters.”

Nigel Teasdale, Head of Motor, Fraud, Costs & Claimant Teams, DWF said: “At DWF, intelligence and data are at the very heart of our business and we leverage the same in fighting and disrupting fraud across all of our fraud service lines.  The industry fight against fraud is only ever enhanced by working collaboratively which has long been supported by the work of the IFB. We have for many years worked closely with the IFB, and are proud to be amongst the first associate members joining the IFB affiliate membership to add to the great work already being done. We welcome being able to share and develop intelligence through such a well-established and long standing industry body."
