Legal business DWF has advised private equity investor CBPE Capital in its recent sale of its stake in YorkTest, Europe's leading provider of food and drink antibody testing programmes, as part of an £8.6m investment deal by Key Capital Partners (KCP).
YorkTest offers comprehensive support to customers in identifying food intolerance and then guiding them through dietary changes with the aim of addressing ailments such as IBS, Migraines and skin conditions. The main market for YorkTest’s offering is currently the UK with sales to overseas markets growing strongly – with its scalable business model, YorkTest is well positioned to increase its penetration of both the UK and overseas markets.
The deal sees CBPE sell 100% of its stake in the company as KCP acquires a majority stake in the business for an investment of over £8m, backing the incumbent management team of CEO Rachel Jansen, CFO Neil Guilder, Scientific Director Dr Gill Hart and Operations Director Jonathan Brookes (Operations Director).
Jonathan Robinson, DWF Head of Private Equity, advised CBPE on the deal with support from senior associate Vicky Ross.
Jonathan said: "We are pleased to have advised CBPE on this transaction, which will allow YorkTest to enter the next phase of their growth and will enable CBPE to continue focusing on their strategic aim of diversifying their investment portfolio."
