You are not alone - Professional, trade and lobbying organisations in the credit sector

The Institute of Credit Management (ICM) provides great resource and support for its members. Member and Fellow, Neil Jinks provides his examples of the variety of resources available.

The Institute of Credit Management

I am proud to be an active member of the Institute of Credit Management (ICM) and was awarded fellowship in 2000 in recognition of my contribution to ICM affairs. Throughout my career to date I have been involved in ICM branch activities and in more recent years have become a Regional Representative covering four regions in the Midlands.

I would encourage everyone involved in credit management to join ICM if they are not already members as it provides a great support network and resources for its members.

ICM events and activities

David Scottow, Senior Director and National Head of Recoveries is Vice-Chair of the Yorkshire West Ridings branch, who is hosting a legal update conference in October.

David and other senior managers of our team have supported ICM on both a national and local level for many years presenting on the law and legal practice in relation to credit management, legal debt recovery and insolvency procedures. This has included presenting at the ICM Law Conference over the past few years.

We will also be hosting an “Ask the Experts” event in Birmingham for ICM’s West Midlands branch on the evening of 1st October with a panel comprising of our legal experts, an authorised High Court Enforcement Officer (HCEO) and a leading credit manager.

If you would like our support in becoming involved in ICM activities in your local area please do get in touch as we would be happy to facilitate introductions to your local committee and other members.
