Fat, salt and sugar reduction targets now extended to hospital food

In response to a report by the Hospital Food Standards Panel (HFSP), the Department of Health has announced its intention to set mandatory requirements for hospital food, including meeting its fat, salt and sugar reduction targets. Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) and food pressure groups have called for consultation on and transparent monitoring of delivery.
