DWF co-host Stonewall’s "train the trainer" course in Yorkshire

20 delegates from local schools attended as part of the Stonewall’s "Education Champions" programme.

Stonewall and DWF recently co-hosted Stonewall’s "train the trainer" course in Yorkshire. 20 delegates from local schools attended as part of the Stonewall’s "Education Champions" programme.

Local authorities and Stonewall work together to establish ways in which they can address homophobic bullying and promote a safe and inclusive learning environment for all young people in school. More than a quarter of all local authorities in England and more than one third of the London boroughs are already members of the programme.

David Scottow, Senior Director - National Head of Recoveries at DWF, welcomed the delegates and spoke about our Diversity Steering Group and our own LGBT networking Group, "Out Front".

Stonewall commented that after the event that ‘the feedback is overwhelmingly positive, and all the attendees left enthused and passionate about tackling homophobic bullying. As a result, we’re now working with about 15 more schools in Leeds and the surrounding area’

This was the first Train the Trainer course Stonewall have ran in Leeds.
