Global Watch: All about efficiency – Germany takes the lead on working time

There has always been a big debate in the UK about the efficiency of working time and availability of employees. There is, for good reason, often a requirement to have a 24 hour service 7 days per week to ensure service excellence.

However, an alternative approach seems to be taking shape in Germany. German Employment Minister Andrea Nahlea has recently announced that she will be seeking to introduce legislation which will ensure that German employers are banned from contacting their employees out of working hours.
