January is a busy time in family law. Families spend longer periods of time together over Christmas and that can push an already troubled marriage over the edge.

Ms Jones told ECHO Business: “We notice an upsurge in new instructions in January and February and September and October following summer holidays.

“I saw quite a few new clients before Christmas who wanted an initial free consultation. They have then come back after Christmas. One person was served with divorce papers on Christmas Eve. That person came in to see me at the first opportunity in January.”
