Super-complaint on grocery pricing practices

Consumer body Which has made a super-complaint to the Competition and Markets Authority regarding supermarket pricing practices. The complaint refers to confusing and misleading special offers, lack of comparability in unit pricing, and shrinking pack sizes without corresponding price reduction. The CMA has responded promptly explaining the potential outcomes which include a market investigation, recommendations for self or formal regulation, competition enforcement. The CMA is to respond within 90 days and is to set up a case page on its website and issue a call for evidence.
