Blood Purifier and Detoxifier ruled unauthorised health claims

The ASA has upheld a single complaint about claims appearing on the ‘Juice Garden’ website ruling ‘Blood Purifier’ to be an unauthorised health claim and ‘Detoxifier’ to be a general health statement requiring to be accompanied by an authorised claim for it to be used.

Need for caution on allergen free statements highlighted

Food Standards Scotland has written to Local Authorities asking them to carry out checks on use of wording such as ‘Wheat free Recipe’ following an apparently serious incident involving trace contamination.

New Government takes shape

Sajid Javid will become Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, he has a strong track record in banking and small business roots. The Small Business and Better Regulation Minister Anna Soubry, in addition to a media background, practised as a barrister with a small firm in Nottingham for a number of years.
