Consultation launched on contractual barriers to EU online trade

EU DG Justice and Consumers has launched a consultation to identify contractual barriers within and between member states inhibiting cross border business to consumer transactions – closing sate 3rd September.

Trans-fats no longer GRAS

The US Food and Drugs Administration has issued a statement finalising its determination that partially hydrogenated oils, the dietary source of trans-fats are no longer ‘generally regarded as safe’ and must be removed from all foods unless specifically authorised within three years.

MRSA found in British pork

A new food campaign group the Alliance to Save our Antibiotics (sponsored by the Soil Association, Compassion in World Farming, Sustain and Charitable Foundations) has claimed to have found MRSA is samples of British pork meat and has called on supermarkets to review their policies on use of Antibiotics in animal feed.

EU logo required on online medicines web pages from 1 July

The Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency has highlighted the need for sellers of online medicines to register with them and for the EU logo to appear on all web pages selling medicines from 1 July.
