Packaging design charges in the spotlight

During the second annual conference of the Grocery Code Adjudicator, plans were announced to hold a seminar to look at issues surrounding pack design changes on 29 September. Christine Tacon claimed that the code was making a difference with a reduction in businesses experiencing issues, an increased willingness to complain and that work done on charges for handling customer complaints had delivered changes.

Non-availability complaints rejected by ASA

The ASA has rejected two complaints about non-availability of fresh salmon in ASDA stores at Easter, being satisfied about steps to forecast demand.

Update on nutrition and health claims

The Department of Health has published a detailed update on a council working group meeting that took place on 8 June. It reviewed a number of specific claims and also a UK request which considered the use of the term ‘Tonic’ in respect of Tonic Water.
