Trading Standards Delivery model ‘broken’

In a press release calling on BIS Minister Nick Boles to conduct an urgent review - the Chartered Institute of Trading Standards has described the current Local Authority delivered service model ‘broken’.

EU High Level Forum on food supply chain

EU DG Growth has announced that it is to set up a High Level Forum chaired jointly by its Commissioner and those for Food and Agriculture to look at supply chain issues including supply chain relationships.

ECJ judgments raise question marks on application of rules

Judgments on food labelling and consumer rights this week have confirmed UK understanding of the rules on what appear very basic matters, raising real question marks as to why they weren’t resolved at member state level.

DEFRA withdraw sections of FIR guidance

DEFRA has withdrawn sections of its guidance on the Food Information Regulation relating to Azo Colours and GM ingredients which were not covered by the EU Food Information Regulation 1169/2011.
