Complaint upheld re 55% saving

The Advertising Standards Authority has upheld a consumer complaint about a price reduction claimed by Safestyle UK. The complaint was based on lack of evidence that the higher price had been applied for an extended period.

Small Business Commissioner to tackle supply chain issues

BIS Business Minister Anna Soubry has launched a consultation on plans to appoint a Small Business Commissioner.  The role was initially suggested to focus on late payment but may also include pre and post contract supply chain issues and include an investigatory and reporting role in addition to assisting with dispute resolution. Closing date 25th August.

Authenticity alert re oregano

A survey by Which has identified potentially high levels of other plant material in dried products being sold as oregano.

Stewardship agreement on rodenticides

A cross-government group led by HSE has set high-level principles around rodenticide use exterior to premises and an industry body is to provide detailed stewardship rules.
