Changes to future food regulation in prospect: The Food Standards Agency Chair has published a paper ‘Regulating our Future’ setting out, albeit briefly, the Agencies plans to create a modern, risk based, proportionate, robust and resilient system in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. View >

ASA publishes report on addressing gender stereotyping in advertising: The Advertising Standards Authority has published research on gender stereotyping and announced that both the codes of advertising practices and its enforcement approach will focus on this topic. View >

Prices must go up if end of sale date advertised: The ASA has upheld a complaint about Laura Ashley where sale prices were further discounted or retained beyond the advertised sale end date. View >

Brexit Developments

DEXEU Secretary of State sets out progress made at end of 2nd round of exit negotiations: David Davis indicated that no less than 96 civil servants had been in Brussels for last week’s negotiations and briefly updated on the UK position on each issue discussed. A joint technical paper was published setting out UK and EU positions on citizens' rights.
