I provide niche expertise in handling social care debt recovery cases for local authorities as well as advising a variety of clients on employers’, public and product liability insurance claims.
I am actively involved in raising awareness of the problems local authorities face surrounding social care debt and have been called upon to speak at a number of conferences and publish articles on the subject. I have been instrumental in developing DWF Reclaim, a unique debt recovery service for local authorities focusing specifically on social care debt, and was delighted to win a Law Firm Innovation Award in 2012 for my work on this.
In addition to my work on social care debt recovery I advise local authorities, retailers and their insurers on all aspects of employers’, public and product liability. I successfully defended a local authority client in the reported case of Durrant v Thames Water and Surrey County Council (2009) and at first instance and on appeal in the reported case of Harris v Waitrose (2010).
