I am based in both Edinburgh and Glasgow. I provide commercial litigation advice to clients in the retail, food and banking sectors throughout Scotland. I also specialise in the area of property litigation. More than ever modern litigation requires advising clients on reputational risk management which is an area in which I have expert knowledge having spent a period on secondment at the BBC.
I have achieved a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) mediation accreditation and am the first and only Scottish lawyer to be listed on the Register of RICS Accredited Mediators.
I am a Solicitor Advocate with rights of audience in the Court of Session and the Supreme Court when it sits as the highest court of appeal in Scottish civil cases. I regularly represent clients in courts, arbitrations, tribunals and mediations including acting as principal agent in numerous commercial litigations (pensions, contractual, commercial agency, etc.) where there were cross-border issues.
Chambers and Partners recently quoted one of my clients as saying: "He provides excellent advice and helps us keep our costs down."
