I have been accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in pension law for over 15 years and I have also served as Chair of the Scottish Group of the Association of Pension Lawyers. I am also a regular contributor and speaker on pension law topics.
I have been Director of Moat Pensions Limited for over 20 years, which provides independent trustee pension services to schemes of all sizes, dealing with all the challenges facing schemes, working with many co-trustees and sponsoring employers as well as different advisers.
The added dimension of being a trustee means I have direct experience of commissioning clear and sensible legal advice. Having knowledge of pensions issues as both an adviser and a client means that I really understand the practical application of pension law and the challenges that this may bring and the need to make good decisions.
My clients span a wide range of situations and sectors, including education, technology, food, public sector, professions and charities.
