I’m a pragmatic and commercial lawyer whose straightforward approach is valued by my clients. I specialise in advising on infrastructure, transport and accommodation projects and have worked with both public and private sector clients on a number of Scotland's highest profile and innovative projects.
Combining legal and commercial expertise on all aspects of major infrastructure projects, PPP/PFI/NPD and the operation and maintenance of infrastructure and assets, my experience includes advising public and private sector bodies in relation to rail franchising, education, health, transport, defence and accommodation projects. This includes taking the lead on a number of high profile projects including work for part of the consortium on the Edinburgh Trams Projects and the procuring authority in relation to the of the ScotRail and Caledonian Sleeper franchises.
In addition to drafting and negotiating infrastructure contracts, I also have a wide range of procurement expertise advising on procurement compliance and strategy, tender and contract documentation, evaluation methodologies and risk allocation.
Chambers and Partners (2014) said “Martin Gallaher is a well-regarded projects partner with experience handling NPD projects. Sources say: "He is a very commercial, client-facing, pragmatic lawyer"”.
