I am a solicitor, a chartered tax advisor and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. I am also one of the authors of Ray & McLaughlin's Practical Inheritance Tax Planning.
Within the firm’s leading private client team I have a particular expertise in helping individuals to pass assets to future generations in the best possible way, usually with a view to mitigating inheritance tax. I regularly advise the trustees of offshore trusts on UK tax issues, with particular reference to the position of their UK resident beneficiaries.
I also act as a professional trustee for a number of family trusts that are administered by DWF's trust administration team as well as acting as a professional executor in cases where the partners of DWF are named as executors of a client's will.
The most recent (2015) editions of the key legal directories say the following about me:
“Paul Davies’ multi-disciplined background and pragmatism provide solutions, guidance and planning that are workable and tailored” (Legal 500)
“Paul Davies is praised by sources as reliable and efficient, with a real ability to simplify matters. He is highly experienced in tax planning for high net worth individuals.” (Chambers and Partners).
Legal 500 (2014) listed me as an expert in tax planning.
Chambers & Partners (2014) said “Paul Davies has a reputation for being ‘very solid technically’. His practice primarily deals with tax planning and tax-efficient trust structuring for both high net worth individuals and estates”.
