My local authority caseload ranges from abuse and professional negligence claims (often acting on behalf of education and social work professionals) to general highways cases.
I have a particular interest in niche and sensitive claims, including the tort of conversion, damages for the negligent provision of employment references and claims under the Human Rights Act for deprivation of liberty and discrimination.
In the field of Employers' Liability and Public Liability, I specialise in the food and hotelier sector, acting on behalf of a number of well-known and prestigious hotel chains in claims ranging from food poising to vicarious liability for attempted murder. Additionally I work on a team basis in multi-million pounds product liability work (fires, floods etc.) and have a strong caseload of commercial insurance work including claims for property damage, breach of contract and in bailment.
I was a member of the successful team led by Derek Adamson, which acted on behalf of Zurich Insurance in the EL Insurance Policy Trigger Litigation in the Supreme Court in 2012.
