I have spent more than 19 years at board level and leading teams in acquisitive and very energetic law firms and have witnessed the change in the marketplace and the impact this has had on legal service providers. Reacting to change and adapting technology and operational strategies is an omnipresent activity so being pragmatic, inventive and commercially orientated is the only way to keep a business ahead of the competition.
With an annual turnover of £200m and an annual IT spend of £11m, the 87 strong IT team keep a focus on innovation around attraction and retention services underpinned by technology.
My role as problem solver has expanded beyond IT to include a number of other operational areas such as Facilities, Knowledge Services and Business Change.
Being recognised as a change agent with an entrepreneurial edge blends well with DWF’s culture which is progressive – there is freedom to develop and create with a light touch on constraint. I have recently been ranked within the top 50 places in the CIO’s leader board for the third year running.
